Ordered two of these kits to replace the one's in my salt and pepper grinders. The original 8 inch square bar, had for some reason, worn away all four corners of the square bar were the top met. I assume that there was something wrong with the quality of the bar, wasn't hard enough, so I have replaced them with these kits. So far so good, but as they say only time will tell. Very quick delivery and was very happy with them.

Have not completed the Mills yet but seems a very good component, the ceramic grinder is so much better than plastic ones you get with some

Recently purchased the 8” salt and pepper grinder kit. Seems very well made and the grinders have turned out great. The only thing I’m a bit concerned about is that one of the ceramic grinders doesn’t seem as smooth running as the other. If you loosen it off it turns but doesn’t grind and if you tighten it it doesn’t turn very well. Maybe a fault in the ceramic grinder?

Response:
The problem described is usually due to the burrs not being fitted level or the top and bottom of the mill not being in alignment. This causes the inner burr and outer burr to fit at an angle and not grind correctly. If you swap the grinders in the units you can identify the problem. We will happily replace a faulty grinder but have never had one so far.

Being relatively new to turning (Lock Down hobby...) I was a bit wary of attempting a grinder set. Ordered the kit from Prokraft and have just turned my first set. It all went together perfectly and the on-line video and printed instructions were a massive help. Guess what EVERYONE is getting for Xmas this year. Great service, great parts, great instructions. I'll certainly put Prokraft to the top of my supplier list.

Good but could be improve d 14 October 2020 | John
Excellent grinder and simple to fit into project,. except the bace of the ceramic grinder diameter could do with being a little larger, so when you screw on the end cap the screws line up with both better. The screws are too small, and to put into hard wood is difficult and a really small driver is required

Response:
The 38mm bottom plate is an industry standard for mills, to change the dimensions would not be easy or cost effective. For fitting the screws if a pilot hole 0.5mm smaller than the screw is drilled first they are relatively straighforward. You do need a PH1 screwdriver.
