You need 102mm to make an Atom pen which means the piece left is to short for anything else after sawing.

150mm is longer than many blanks available (most are 130mm), the remaining 50mm would be enough to complete a keyring pen kit or Saturn pen kit

Harder to turn but well worth it. I used a 8by8 HSS, shaped it and it cut the aluminium ok.

These are very good sized blanks and easy to cut and turn with a sharp tool. I used an old spindle roughing gouge to turn with and once I got used to the difference between them and wood, things went really well.
